Borrowing Limits
You may see the following notification on your hoopla app: “The collective daily borrow limit set by your library has been reached and will reset at midnight.” This is a resource the Hubbard Public Library offers to Hubbard library card holders only. We do not have an unlimited subscription for this app. Instead, we pay per checkout. Usage of hoopla has increased almost 50% over the past two years. To stay within our monthly budget, we have had to put limits on this resource.
A limit of 6 checkouts for each library card holder per month as well as a daily monetary limit for the library has been necessary to guarantee equitable access throughout the month. When the daily amount is reached, it will reset at 12:01am the next day.
We continue to monitor usage statistics and allocate funds to this resource as they become available. Thank you for your understanding and your abundant support!
