Borrowing Limits
You may be seeing notifications on your hoopla app that “The collective daily borrow limit set by your library has been reached and will reset at midnight.” We wanted to take a moment and explain how hoopla works. This is a resource the Hubbard Public Library offers to Hubbard library card holders only. We do not pay a monthly unlimited subscription fee for this app, instead we pay per checkout. hoopla usage has increased almost 50% over the past two years. Due to the increase, we have had to put budgetary limits on this resource.
To ensure equitable access to this amazing resource, we have limited checkouts to 6 per library card holder each month. We have also had to place a monthly monetary limit that is divided up evenly per day of the month. When the daily amount is reached, it will reset at 12:01am the next day. The daily limit is to guarantee that the budget lasts throughout the month.
We continue to evaluate usage statistics and allocate funds to this resource as they are available. We appreciate your understanding and the abundant support of our library and its resources!
