Teen and Technology Public Services Librarian

 

The Hubbard Public Library (HPL) is seeking a full-time Teen and Technology Public Services Librarian. HPL is busy after school due to our location; therefore, we are looking for a librarian who is skilled in engaging teens who visit the library. The ideal candidate will be energetic and experienced at offering creative programming that appeals to teens in grades 7 through 12. Apply today!

Minimum qualifications: Master’s Degree. *Library experience preferred.

*Applicants with professional experience are preferred. However, recent Master’s Degree (related field) graduates and those who will complete their degree in December 2023 are encouraged to apply.

Teen/YA librarians are in touch with current popular culture and are outgoing, always ready to interact with patrons and provide them with what they need. Successful Teen/YA librarians are passionate about helping teens gain the skills they need to be successful in their personal and academic pursuits. They have a love of learning and are comfortable working with both print and digital resources.

Goal: To provide a comprehensive program of services and materials to teens, working with the entire library staff and the community to deliver information to the public and to continually create an inviting, enriching atmosphere that improves and promotes the resources of the library.

Compensation and Benefits:  The starting hourly rate for this position is $17.90, commensurate with experience.  Benefits package includes health, dental and vision insurance along with a paid time off package that includes 11 paid holidays, sick leave, 3 personal days, bereavement, and vacation time (vacation time is earned after 1 year of service). It also includes participation in the Ohio Public Employment Retirement System (OPERS). Partial tuition reimbursement is available for advanced or continuing education at an ALA accredited institution after 1 year of service.
